In dentistry we try to mimic nature's beauty and restore people to their original health. When the TMJs (temporal mandibular joints, jaw joints), muscles, back teeth, and front teeth are healthy and in harmony, they are stable. As a ring is placed on these four concerns of dentistry, their pattern reminded me of the setting on the ocean. We chose the beautiful setting sun as our logo to represent our goal of helping our patients to obtain oral health to achieve harmony and stability.

Our goal is to help you become as healthy as you choose to be. Your first decision in this regard is how you would like to begin your relationship with us. There are four levels on which people may choose treatment in our practice. Our logo also represents the four levels of dental care.

Level one or urgent care is for people in crisis with an emergency. We see emergencies immediately, whenever possible. This is not the primary focus of our practice, however. This level of care is similar to a person drowning in a sea of disease with the dentist taking on the role of a lifeguard.

Level two are patients who desire treatment only when something breaks. We try to create interest and knowledge for optimum care through education in our recare program. This level corresponds to a lifeguard teaching swimming lessons.

Level three or maintenance care patients are patients who want to take an active part in the prevention of present and future disease problems, but choose repair solutions that are more short-range in duration. This level corresponds to our logo with the dentist joining the patient in a boat crossing the ocean. The patient is out of the water and disease, however crossing the ocean is not an easy task in a boat.

Level four or optimum care is for patients who choose to have comprehensive examination and master planning. In our logo the water represents disease, but the sky represents health. The level four care is similar to a flight across the ocean, in a plane, with the dentist as the co-pilot and companion in a well planned path.

It is not uncommon for people to begin at one level and progress to a higher level over time. We believe with education and co-discovery we can empower you to accept the obligation to control decay and gum disease and join us, your dentist in a partnership in health.
